Contemplating taking your wife on an anniversary dinner? Will a new restaurant in the city give you value for money? Where can you get the best fondue in town? Those are the kind of queries PoshVine, an online destination that claims to connect you to the best culinary experiences in the city, aims to answer. The brainchild of husband-wife duo, 31 year-old Richik Nandi and 28 year-old Garima Satija, Bengaluru-based PoshVine, operational since October 2011, will begin its Mumbai operations from September 1, by initially tying up with 40 premium restaurants in the city.

“A city is recognised first by its people and then by the culinary experiences it offers them. Our website works on the principle of collaborated consumption, offering a platform for passionate people from the hospitality community to offer experienced services and booking options to patrons. Patrons in turn can make reservations at the best restaurants in the city on their computer, and enjoy insider benefits like 20-25 percent discount on their food bills,” explains Nandi, founder and director, PoshVine.u00a0“The best part is that reserving a table at your desired restaurant through our website is absolutely free,” adds Satija, whose website has 25,000 diners who regularly avail their services.

How it works
PoshVine partners with premium restaurants to let you reserve a table at any time and also gives you insider benefits at these destinations. Special benefits include exclusive chef’s special dishes or PoshVine Rewards, which can be redeemed against dining vouchers of PoshVine. The more you reserve your tables with PoshVine, the more you save and earn rewards.u00a0PoshVine, which is currently also functional in Hyderabad and Chennai, lists restaurants by locality and the cuisine they offer.

“We also partner with industry insiders and top chefs for culinary master classes, events like food trails, and gourmet safaris, which are priced anywhere between Rs 1,000 to Rs 30,000,” says Nandi.u00a0PoshVine also offers a yearly membership to food connoisseurs who are interested in frequent and varied culinary experiences. However, it’s not for everyone. “This service only caters to affluent clients and the membership is by invitation only,” says Satija.

How did the website come about? “Being complete foodies ourselves and having travelled extensively, we knew there was a need for an integrated platform where foodies could discover unique culinary experiences. Consumers need flexibility, choice and personalised service. That’s why we launched PoshVine,” says Satija.

Pinal Dave, an avid diner who regularly books her tables at premium restaurants in Bengaluru using PoshVine said, “We have had some fantastic dining experiences courtesy PoshVine. Their booking services are excellent.”

Posh in Mumbai
How do they think Mumbai will respond to the service? “Mumbai has a cosmopolitan culture. This is evident from the number of global-cuisine restaurants that have opened up in the city in the recent past. We expect our service to grow slowly but steadily,” says a positive Nandi.

“We are confident that we will have many patrons in Mumbai who will enjoy the PoshVine experience,” signs off Satija.u00a0
