Seems like Sony is in the right track when it comes to offering quality images in mirror less cameras. The company recently unveiled its latest mirror less camera, the A7R II in India featuring a 35mm full-frame sensor, thus offering high resolution image capturing with a high sensitivity and focus response.

Priced at Rs 2.4 lakhs, the A7R II, it said, offers professional image capturing without compromising either on sensitivity, resolution or focus response. The camera offers an effective resolution of 42.5MP (the highest full-frame image sensor it has ever created) and is capable of shooting pictures at ISO sensitivity of up to 102400.

The camera borrows the 5-axis image stabilisation system from the A7 II model, and has the ability to shoot and record 4K videos (QFHD 3840x2160) in multiple formats including Super 35mm and full-frame format. Among other improvements include an XGA OLED viewfinder, and support for up to 5fps continuous shooting with AF tracking.

As far as lenses go, the A7R II is compatible with its FE range of lenses (35mm full-frame compatible E-mount lenses). However, it can also be used on A-mount lenses when they are mounted on the camera using an LA-EA3 mount adapter. The shutter, it said, comes with a cycle durability of approximately 500,000 shots.

The camera utilizes advanced XAVC S codec during video shooting, which allows it to record videos at a high bit rate of 100Mbps (possible only in UHS Speed Class 3 memory cards) during 4K recording and 50Mbps during full HD shooting.

The camera body has a solid feel in-hand, thanks to its light, rigid magnesium alloy design, and has an improved and re-designed grip and shutter button compared to its predecessor. The new A7R II camera is Wi-Fi and NFC-compatible, and is compatible with Sony’s PlayMemories Mobile applications such as Time-Lapse, Smart Remote Control, etc, available for Android and iOS platforms.

The camera comes with a fee carry case, micro HDMI cable, 64GB SDXC memory card, battery charger and two rechargeable batteries.

Available on: order via all Alpha flagship stores and Sony stores

Price: Rs 2,39,990
