How to be a lounge lizard

Simple. Just drop in at the Three Stories and let go

White, expansive sofas. Fluorescent lights. Great music to grove through the night. Sumptuous spreads to keep you satiated. Do you need any more reasons to drop in at the Three Stories? Well, here's one more. The place makes you feel like a lounge lizard. Correction. This place turns you into one.

There are many a restro-bar in saddi Dilli, but very few so tastefully and tactfully done up to provide you with a complete lounge experience. The interiors simply take your breath away and transport you to another world. And this, even before you have downed your first drink.

Now for the food. It could have been easy for the promoters of this place to take shortcuts with the menu as Three Stories leaves a good first impression and the music takes care of the rest. But the food in itself is worth savoring for the variety it offers.u00a0 There's Indian, there's pan-Asian, there's European, the works!u00a0

Take the Matar Makai ke Seekh which is tender green peas and sweet corn kebab with a green chili,
coriander and other herbs or the tandoori mushroom that is button mushroom marinated in curd, seasoned with traditional spices. Or maybe go for the Dahi ke Kebab, curd and traditional spices flavoured with saffron, or even the Achari paneer tikka, which is marinated cottage cheese chunks flavoured with traditional pickle whole spices such as fennel, onion seed and fenugreek for a tangy, spicy and distinctive taste. There are so many variations in the starters itself that you can fill yourself with just that. But the gluttons that we are we tried a few non-veg starters as well. The mutton seekh kebab and the burra kebab were simply yum.

For the main course we tried the Murg makhani as well as the murg tikka masala, perhaps Britain's most popular Indian dish! And we were left licking our fingers. The dum ki champ, which is basically rib of lamb cooked in a deg on slow fire, in the dum tradition also looked sinful, but we were burping by now.

A single visit at the Three Stories is not enough to do justice to its varied menu. We just managed to try the Indian this time. What are you waiting for?
