Muscle man Sahil Shah and travel writer Azeem Banatwalla, part of the Sorabh Pant-led East India Comedy, will be in Pune for a one-night-stand-off with the city’s “humorous folks”. “The Pune audience is very nice. They enjoy the jokes a lot till they are not on Maharashtrian people,” he says.
Interestingly, Shah has no interests in life, other than to poke fun at others and laugh at himself. “If you want to be a comedian, the first thing to do is to keep self-respect away. You must be able to make fun of yourself to make others laugh at your jokes,” he says.
Former IT guy Banatwalla, on the other hand, loves to go for exotic vacations and weeklong trips (like driving along Juhu Beach on Ganesh Visarjan). He also believes t hat love is blind, mostly because his girlfriend thinks he looks like Naseeruddin Shah.
The duo promises two different types of comedy on Thursday, when they take the stage for half an hour each. “There must be variety in the show so that people enjoy it fully. It is going to be a lot of fun as people will be listening to all new stuff here,” adds Shah.
