Dear Diana,
I have a girlfriend and we've been together for three years. Of late, however, I have started doubting her. I feel she is getting close to one of her guy friends. She keeps excusing herself to talk on the phone. She wasn't like this earlier. I wish I knew how to overcome my doubts. I tried talking to her, but she just laughed it off. I don't want to damage our relationship in any way.

Dear Samrat,
A suspicious mind is detrimental to a relationship. If you keep doubting her, it is sure to create havoc in the relationship. If you are sure about your doubts, you need to sit down and voice your apprehensions to your girlfriend. You will have to tell her the truth. Your fears could be unwanted and may be she is tied up in other things which she is not telling you about. So either way she has to give you an explanation to put your fears to rest.
Dear Diana,
My girlfriend was in a relationship earlier with another guy. After she broke off with him, I helped her move on. We are part of the same group of friends. Gradually we got attracted to each other. Now when everything is going fine, she tells me she still misses him and wants to get back with her ex. Now we keep fighting about it. Our relationship is at its worst now. I'm shattered, but she does not seem to care.

Dear Animesh,
It is clear that this girl has lost interest in you. She needed a shoulder to cry on after her breakup. You provided her the much-needed support and fell in love with her. However her heart still beats for her ex and she is finding a way to get back with him. Do not waste your time being with this girl any longer. Move on and find someone who reciprocates your love.
