The magnificent play "HumourBaaz" Starring Stand Up Comedian Rehman Khan directed by Kayyum Kazi is set to make his theatre debut at the premier show on 18th November 2023 at Mukkti Cultural Hub, Andheri West in the production house. The Play is written and compiled by Rehman Khan. HumourBaaz, a solo play by actor, writer and stand-up comedian Rehman Khan is a compilation of satire and humour extracted from the treasures of Hindustani literature.


Rehman Khan, known for his witty jokes and comedic timing, will be suiting up to play the lead role. Along with stand-up comedy routines, it will be a chance for his fans to see him in a new light. The duration of the play is 90 Mins with no interval. The objective of the play is to rekindle the interest of the masses in the rich Hindustani literature, Writers, poets, and Shayars which have somehow been left behind due to the dominance of Internet culture and dying reading habits.


Stand Up Comedian Rehman Khan says, "I've always been a fan of theatre and have been itching to take on a role that challenged me in a different way. I am very elated to be part of the play. This event marks my debut in a distinct format that is a rich blend of literature and poetry delivered with Flavors of storytelling and standup comedy. The theatrical presentation of this monologue makes it unique. I want people to watch these skills too.”


He adds, “The eminent poets and writers like Mirza Ghalib, Dagh dehelvi, Munshi Prem Chand, Manto, Kunwar Bedi sehar, Firaq Gorakhpuri, etc who are generally known for their sombre writings, you’ll discover that their lives have specks of colors and laughter. We bring to your incidents and anecdotes from the lives of the stalwart poets and litterateurs.

Rehman Khan is excited to bring his unique comedic talents to the stage and hopes to attract a new audience to theatre. "I think comedy has a place in theatre, and I'm thrilled to be a part of this production that will hopefully make audiences laugh and leave feeling uplifted."

Kayyum Kazi, Director says, “Rehman Khan has a natural comedic timing that I'm confident will translate seamlessly into his theatre performance. He's been working hard to develop his character and has really shown his dedication to the craft."
