The Karvi Festival, though not an opportunity of a lifetime, is certainly a rare one coming back only after seven years. The Karvi flower found in the biodiversity-rich Western Ghats or Sahyadri, are a beautiful purple and bloom once after every seven years.

The BNHS Conservation Education Centre (CEC) is hosting the week-long Karvi Festival in late August and early September to celebrate this rare blooming.
The festival will offer a opportunity for Mumbaikars to see large patches of hill sides adorned with Karvi flowers in the tranquil and dense forest around BNHS CEC in Goregaon.
