BB18 Day 9 & 10: It takes a wake-up call for housemates to go against Vivian

Vivian Dsena is Bigg Boss's ladla or the housemates'? Well, we are still figuring it out. Day 9 and 10 in the 'Bigg Boss' house were a little more dramatic than the other days. Today's episode had some genuine muddas, an interesting nomination task, and some good confrontations. While Gunratan Sadavarte had to leave the house, Avinash Mishra received some fruitful advice from Eisha Singh and Alice Kaushik. Vivian Dsena also fought with Rajat Dalal over a rather silly topic. So before we dive into what worked and what didn’t, here’s what happened in today's episode of 'Bigg Boss 18'. What happened in 'Bigg Boss' Day 9 & 10 The episode started with Time God Afreen Khan distributing duties among contestants. As usual, Avinash argued, which led the entire house to go against him and call him out for being rigid. This prompted Vivian to talk to Eisha Singh, asking her to explain things to Avinash. Later, Eisha and Alice expressed their concerns to Avinash. Bigg Boss then called Gunratan into the confession room and informed him that, due to an ongoing court case, he would have to leave the house for now. Vivian Dsena had a silly fight with Rajat Dalal over letting Chahat use the washroom, which became a big enough issue for the housemates to intervene, but no one did until Bigg Boss stepped in. Surprisingly, Sara Afreen still managed to find loopholes to back Vivian, which was unexpected. Later in the episode, 'Bigg Boss 18' had its second nomination, where Afreen Khan became the 'sanchalak'. The task involved boarding a train with a food item. The power to give the food item in the first round was with the first two nominated contestants chosen by Time God. In each subsequent round, two contestants got out and gained the power to give the food item. Avinash Mishra, Shilpa Shirodkar, Karan Veer Mehra, Alice Kaushik, Muskan Bame, Tajinder Bagga, and Viral Bhabhi, among others, were nominated in the task. What worked and what didn’t To be honest, today's episode of 'Bigg Boss 18' was the best so far—spice, drama, and valid muddas, the housemates had it all. But did they manage to capitalize on it? Sadly, no. While the contestants were quick to call out Avinash Mishra for his mistakes, they chose to stay silent when the radar was on Vivian Dsena. It took a wake-up call from Bigg Boss to make the contestants speak up against Vivian. Still, Sara Afreen chose to be his puppet, trying to defend him. Vivian Dsena, on the other hand, looked quite foolish trying to justify himself when he fought with Rajat about letting Chahat use the washroom. Gunratan leaving the house was a sad twist, as he was emerging as an entertaining character. It will be interesting to see if he returns to the show.

Why stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui is on gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's radar?

Baba Siddique was shot dead in Bandra, and it is alleged that Lawrence Bishnoi was behind the politician's murder. Now, a new report suggests that Munawar Faruqui is also on Bishnoi's radar. In the morning, news came in that Munawar Faruqui had received a death threat. While various reports claim that the threats were from the Bishnoi gang, the Mumbai Police have not confirmed this. However, sources say the development comes weeks after the Delhi incident. But why is Munawar on Bishnoi's radar? Why is the Lawrence Bishnoi gang behind Munawar Faruqui? While the exact reasons for targeting Faruqui are unknown, 'Firstpost' quoted an officer saying, “The gang was furious over his gag on Hindu gods. Shooters were tasked with the hit job at a Delhi event in September. They travelled with him on the same flight from Mumbai and were even booked at the hotel where he was scheduled to stay. However, intelligence agencies alerted the Delhi police, and the plan was foiled.” It’s important to note that the police have provided protection to comedian Munawar Faruqui after receiving life threats against him. More updates on the Munawar Faruqui death threat According to sources, in September this year, Munawar was scheduled to attend an event in Delhi. However, the Delhi Police’s Special Cell received specific inputs about a plan to attack him at the event. Munawar was informed, and he was not allowed to attend. He was sent back to Mumbai under protection, and the Mumbai Police were alerted, leading to an increase in his security. Munawar Faruqui’s journey in showbiz Munawar started his journey in 2020 after he uploaded a stand-up comedy video titled 'Dawood, Yamraaj, Aurat'. After that, he released his debut song 'Jawab' with Spectra, an Indian musician. He started his journey in showbiz in 2022 with the reality show 'Lock Upp', hosted by actress-politician Kangana Ranaut. He was crowned as the winner of the show. He was then seen in 'Bigg Boss 17' in 2023, where he also lifted the trophy.  Apart from Munawar Faruqui, here are several other high-profile names on the Lawrence Bishnoi gang’s alleged hit list including Salman Khan, Zeeshan Siddique (son of Baba Siddique), Shaganpreet Singh, Kaushal Chaudhari & Amit Dagar.

Vishal Dadlani schools Indian Idol contestant for mimicking Arijit Singh & Atif

Vishal Dadlani, who is known for songs like 'Salaam Namaste', 'Om Shanti Om', 'Tashan', and others, schooled an 'Indian Idol 15' contestant for trying to mimic singers like Arijit Singh and Atif Aslam. Vishal, who is currently judging the reality show, stopped Lakshya's performance midway and asked the contestant to sing in his own voice. Vishal told him, "Yahaan aap nakal kar ke aage nahi badoge" (You can't move ahead by imitating here).           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Sony Entertainment Television (@sonytvofficial) The 23-year-old contestant, Lakshya, who sang 'Tum Kya Mile' and 'Pehli Nazar Mein', hoped to impress the judges with his vocals. However, the judges criticized him for copying other famous singers. Vishal, who stopped Lakshya's audition midway, asked him to find his original style while entering the music industry. Vishal Dadlani scolded an Indian Idol contestant Vishal said, "Aap original singers ke inflections aapke gaane mein daal rahe hain, first with Arijit, then with Atif. You’re singing well, par aap apna nahi gaa rahe ho. Ye 'Indian Idol' hai na, yahaan se idol nikalte hain; yahaan aap nakal kar ke aage nahi badoge" (You’re not using your original singing style. This is 'Indian Idol', where idols are born. You can’t get ahead here by imitating someone). He further continued, “You perform in public, right? Often in shows, when you imitate other artists, you win praise from the audience because they want to listen to the songs as they know them. But until you make an identity of your own, you will never become a star. You cannot become an 'Indian Idol' singing in someone else’s style. This is my problem.” Vishal made it clear that he liked Lakshya's voice and agreed that the contestant had good ability but was put off by his attempt to copy other singers. “I really like your voice, but I don’t like the imitation. Aap seekho zarur, yeh bahut bade kalakaar hain aur bahut acche kalakaar hain; but jis din aap unki nakal karne lag jaoge, unki style apna loge toh aap hotel, restaurant mein gaate reh jaoge. To be an artist, you have to find your own space” (You should definitely learn from them because they are great artists, but the day you start copying them and adopt their style, you will end up singing in hotels and restaurants). Vishal concluded. About 'Indian Idol 15' The 15th season of 'Indian Idol' will be judged by Vishal Dadlani, along with Badshah and Shreya Ghoshal. Singer Aditya Narayan will once again take on the role of host, adding to the show’s familiar charm.

Vivian Dsena

Bigg Boss 18 contestant Vivian Dsena: ‘Winning is a bonus, not the focus’

Although he began his career in 2008, it was his aloof and intense character in Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani (2010) that turned him into television’s heartthrob. After that, regardless of the role Vivian Dsena took, fans would ardently watch everything he did. His characters in shows such as Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon (2013) and Shakti—Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki (2016) only boosted his popularity. Despite being part of dance and action reality shows, the actor consistently avoided offers for Bigg Boss over the years. However, this year, Dsena finally agreed to join the 18th season. “It was not an easy decision to make. I’ve been hesitant for more than eight years, even though I’ve been offered the show multiple times. I’ve always stayed in my comfort zone, whether it’s fictional or non-fictional work. But, this time, I felt it was important to push myself,” said the actor. He added that his family and wife, Nouran Aly, encouraged him to step out of his comfort zone and take on something challenging. Dsena is clear that Bigg Boss “is not my cup of tea,” but he recognised it was an important move. While many contestants prepare and strategise, he claims not to have watched a single episode before entering the show. “It’s a mixed feeling. I’ve never done anything like this before, so there’s excitement. I’m entering the house with no preconceived notions, ready to experience everything as it comes. I’ve never watched a single episode of the show, so let’s see how I handle being thrown into the game unprepared. I will be spontaneous and real. I don’t have a fixed strategy. I’m someone who reacts to situations as they come. Bigg Boss is unpredictable, so having a rigid strategy doesn’t work for me. I will be myself. I know it is nice to be important, but more important to be nice,” he said. For most, the show serves as a way to gain popularity, air personal issues, or attract attention to find more work. However, for the Madhubala actor, it is an opportunity to try something new. “Winning is great, but my goal is to [have an] experience. I want to see how much I can grow as a person and how I handle being in such a confined and challenging environment. If I win, that’s a bonus, but it’s not the only focus. My fans, who have contributed to my career by being loyal and giving me unconditional love, will get to see the real me,” Dsena said. He also confessed that while he is away, the only things he will miss are his wife, daughter, and the food.

Bigg Boss 18 Day 8 review: Avinash Mishra the new attention seeker of the house?

Another day in the Bigg Boss house, and yet again, we witnessed Avinash Mishra's tireless attempts to imitate contestants from previous years. At times, it felt like he was trying to copy Asim Riaz, but on the other hand, we could also see shades of Abhishek Kumar in him. Yesterday's episode took an interesting turn when Afreen Khan was announced as the 'Time God.' Meanwhile, Avinash Mishra's arrogant attitude started becoming a problem for his own friend, Eisha Singh. So, here’s what happened in Yesterday's episode of Bigg Boss 18 and a quick review of what worked and what didn’t. What Happened in Bigg Boss 18 Day 8 Yesterday’s episode started with Avinash, Eisha, and Alice Kaushik, friends who were caught in an argument. The trouble intensified when Alice called out Eisha for her behaviour. Being a girl's girl, they sorted out their differences, but Avinash Mishra's arrogant behaviour didn’t sit well with them. They were quick to call him out for disrespecting Shilpa Shirodkar, who is serious about her stance in the house. Later in the episode, Avinash Mishra became a pain for the housemates. First, he got into an argument with Karan Veer Mehra, followed by a war of words with Shilpa, but it didn’t end there. He was foolish enough to argue with Vivian Dsena, who was quick to put him in his place. Vivian stated that if Avinash worked last, he would also eat last.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by JioCinema (@officialjiocinema) The highlight of the day came later in the episode when Bigg Boss literally changed things up by announcing the new concept of the 'Time God' instead of a captain. The 'Time God' controls everything in the house, and as the saying goes, “sumdi mein nikal lena,” that’s exactly how Afreen Khan became the Time God, and it was impressive.           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by JioCinema (@officialjiocinema) What Worked and What Didn't Work in Yesterday's Episode Avinash’s unnecessary poking came across as desperate. It was evident that he just wanted to grab attention, so that’s a big thumbs down. He has been behaving like this for a while, and honestly, this is not what Bigg Boss viewers are looking for. On the other hand, Afreen Khan becoming the 'Time God' was impressive. We are hands down amazed by his gameplay. Even after having multiple fights and arguments, he made sure his name was safe and won the title of the first Time God of the Bigg Boss house.
