A host of new shows are set to beam onto the tube in the coming weeks. Among them is 'Tere Sheher Mein', which is special due to two reasons — it is helmed by Gyan Correa, director of Oscar-nominated film, 'The Good Road', and secondly, it will mark actress Gautami Kapoor's comeback to TV after a yearlong hiatus.

Shot in Paris and Benaras, the show is expected to go on air next month. It also stars Sachin Tyagi and Hiba Nawab in lead roles. Gyan says it was producer Rajan Shahi who convinced him to step into the small screen industry.

"Television is a different medium and one needed to re-orient oneself for it. It is more of a collaborative effort and hugely demanding in terms of output. While films are a labour of love, TV is more of a commercial proposition," he states.

'Tere Sheher Mein' is centered on Amaya, a young girl who draws strength from the unlikeliest places as she journeys through life.

On collaborating with Gyan, Shahi says, "I wanted a director who has his own individual style. Gyan is a master of detailing and worked hard to create this new texture (for the serial). His control over pre-production work and shoot was a learning experience for all of us."
