It was a fangirl moment for Shabana Azmi when she met Emma Thompson on the set of Shekhar Kapur’s What’s Love Got To Do With It? Azmi had always been keen to collaborate with the legendary British star.

Much to Azmi’s surprise, even Thompson shared the same sentiment. This mutual admiration society will work wonders for the veteran actors.

Speaking of What’s Love Got To Do With It?, Azmi's co-actors include Emma Thompson, Lily James, Shazad Latif, Rob Brydon, Asim Chaudhry and Pakistani star Sajal Ali, who featured in the Sridevi-starrer Mom (2017). The film, which will be shot in London, is helmed by Shekhar Kapur.

Earlier, Shabana Azmi had been shooting in Budapest for Steven Spielberg's Halo. This futuristic sci-fi adventure television series has been adapted from a video game. The Otto Bathurst-directed venture, also featuring Pablo Schreiber and Natascha McElhone, sees Azmi play Admiral Margaret Parangosky, the head of the Office of Naval Intelligence.

In an interview with mid-day, Shabana Azmi shared what it was like working on the sets of Hollywood. "One is a historical drama and the other, a futuristic sci-fi show! An actor cannot ask for more diverse subjects."
