Metallic hues, plunging necklines and minimal make-up were the fashion trends that dominated the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards night
Golden Globe red carpet fashion
It was that time of the year again when Hollywood stars from the film and television fraternity walked the red carpet at 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards 2015 dressed at their glamorous best.

The event, which was held at The Beverly Hill Hotel, California, on January 11, had the who’s who of the industry such as Amal and George Clooney, Heidi Klum, Naomi Watts, Rosamund Pike, Amy Adams and Jared Leto among others in attendance. While we saw many rock their outfits, there were a few who made us sigh. We give you a lowdown of some of the best and the worst dressed at the event.
Best dressed
Heidi Klum: The supermodel flaunts her figure in a body-hugging red Versace number. With the matching peep toes complementing her outfit, she makes it difficult for us to look away. Phew! (on cover)

Emma Stone: The Amazing Spiderman actress hits bull’s eye with this Lanvin jumpsuit. The minimal make-up, the red lip colour, pointed heels and the big bow as the statement accessory makes us go wow.
Jared Leto: While most men stuck to the ever-safe black tux at the event, the actor garners attention with this chic white tuxedo. We also notice that messy hair braid Leto. Quite a hunk, we say.
Rosamund Pike: The Gone Girl actress makes a bold choice with this low- cut floor-grazing Vera Wang dress, however it pays off beautifully. We love the cut outs on the waist and the nude make- up is a thumbs up.
Jennifer Lopez: Now this is how you carry a cape. Lopez rocks the high slit, plunging neckline shimmering number by Zuhair Murad. The matching heels, earrings and clutch complete her outfit.
Naomi Watts: Watts’s yellow strapless Gucci gown looks dazzling on her and we can’t help but laud her for the choice of colour. The actress completes her look with an embellished belt and Bulgari jewels.
Amy Adams: Adams is a breath of fresh air with this one shoulder powder blue Versace dress. Keeping it simple seems to be the way for the lady here. We like!
Worst dressed
Julianne Moore: This dress is an opportunity missed. The shimmering Givenchy fishtail gown would have looked so much better without the feathers at the bottom. But we can only wish.
Alan Cumming: While we admire experimentation on the red carpet, The Good Wife actor pushes it way too much here with this all nude suit. No?
Kiera Knightley: The pregnant actress is probably the worst dressed of all the women on the red carpet. The ruffled bib and the tiered skirt do nothing to her svelte figure. Also, the butterfly print gives the Chanel outfit a night-gownish feel. Better luck next time, Kiera!
Lena Dunham: While we never rank the actress very high up on the fashion radar, however, this ill-fitted Zac Posen dress is just drab. The high-low hern trend is not for everybody, Lena.
Jemima Kirke: The Girls actress tries hard to stand out in a metallic crop top, a cape and a white skirt, however, the risk taken backfires as the cape adds no character to her attire. That makes it look weird instead. Pics/AFP
