Actors Kate Winslet, Diane Keaton, and Mia Wasikowska have joined the cast of "Blackbird". The film, to be directed by Roger Mitchell from a script by Christian Trope, is an official remake of Danish director Bille August's 2014 movie "Silent Heart".


Keaton, 72, will play Lily, a terminally ill mother bringing her family together before committing suicide. Winslet, 42, and Wasikowska, 28, will be portraying her daughters. August's film featured actors Ghita Nørby, Morten Grunwald, Paprika Steen, and Jens Albinus in pivotal roles.


Sherryl Clark and David Bernardi will be producing the film, while Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, Jeffrey Greenstein, and Jonathan Yunger will be serving as executive producers.
