After sharing a video explaining the events the resulted in them meeting, falling in love and then getting married, Swara shared pictures from her court marriage
Swara and Fahad got married under the Special Marriages Act. Sharing happy pictures from the ceremony, the actress wrote, "Three cheers for the #SpecialMarriageAct (despite notice period etc.) At least it exists & gives love a chance… The right to love, the right to choose your life partner, the right to marry, the right to agency these should not be a privilege"
Fahad Ahmad shared a picture of the two dancing after registration and wrote, "When u realised it’s finally done.Thank you everyone for the love & support. The process was anxious but the result can be read from our faces. P.S-when I failed to stop @ReallySwara from dancing in court, I joined her, I feel that’s only secret for happy marriage"
For the wedding, Swara opted for a beautiful red saree and heavily embroidered blouse. Fahad matched with Swara as she wore a white kurta-pajama along with a red jacket
Fahad, who is a Mumbai-based political activist, graduated from the Aligarh Muslim University and completed his M.Phil in social work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in Mumbai. He was elected the general secretary of the TISS students' union in 2017 and 2018, and was a prominent face in the anti-CAA protests, mobilising the agitation's Mumbai leg by drawing large crowds from different colleges
