Almost five years after he moved out of the Bhatt camp and went solo as a producer, Vikram Bhatt has reunited with mentor Mahesh Bhatt for his next, Cold. Featuring Akshay Oberoi and Anisha Pahuja in lead roles, the film — written by Mahesh — revolves around a woman who experiences paranormal activities when living alone in her Mumbai apartment.

“The world has gone through a harrowing time in the past year, and there is a need for a collective catharsis. Cold will provide that to the audience. Intelligence has always been viewed as the ability to think and learn, but in the post-pandemic world, we need to view it as our ability to rethink and unlearn. And what could be a better way to do it than collaborate with the master storyteller himself,” says Vikram, who kicked off the first schedule in Mumbai. Considering Mahesh and Vikram have given Bollywood one of the most prominent horror film franchises in Raaz, it’s not surprising that the two are revisiting their favourite genre. “With Cold, I will reinvent the horror genre with my mentor, 20 years after Raaz [2001].”
