South actor Revathi returns to Hindi cinema with a film on organ donation
Revathi
Her short but impactful outing in Navarasa proved again that it’s a delight to see Revathi on screen. Six years after Margarita with a Straw (2015), the acclaimed South actor is set to return to Hindi cinema with Aye Zindagi. The film, also starring Satyajeet Dubey, makes a case for ethical organ donation. Noting that it’s a rare feat to deal with a grave subject in a light-hearted manner, Revathi says that debutant director Anirban’s unique vision made her gravitate towards the project.

“The way he wants to tell the story [drew me to it]. It’s a true story of a person from Mohan Foundation [a Mumbai-based NGO that works towards organ donation].” The Shiladitya Bora production is expected to go on floors in the coming weeks. “We will be shooting at hospitals, which aren’t an easy location. I hope we can [translate] our vision for the film from paper to the screen.”
While the director describes it as a true story of “loss, grief and redemption”, Dubey says that the film deeply moved him. “Revathi ma’am is a true artiste. I’ll try not to behave like a fanboy around her,” he says.
