After making fans wait for 5 years, Shah Rukh Khan returned to the throne that belonged to him. The superstar had announced three films for 2023 and two of them have already released. He started the year with Yash Raj Films' spy-thriller Pathaan. Shah Rukh was back on the big screen with Jawan. It released on September 7 and is still running successfully in theatres.

Jawan is Shah Rukh's second release of the year. With the film maintaining a stronghold at the box office, it is likely that the actioner could open the new Rs. 600 crore club soon. As of now, the Atlee directorial's India collection (Hindi version only) is Rs. 525.50 crores. It has surpassed the lifetime business of Pathaan (Rs 524.53 crore). Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 is still in the race even after collecting Rs. Rs 525 crores.

Jawan's grand total till now, including South languages, is reportedly Rs. 584.32 crores. At the global box office, the film has broken all records by collecting over Rs. 1000 crores. Data reveals the total stands at Rs. 1043.21 crores.

In an interview around 10 years ago with IBNLive, Shah Rukh manifested a 1000-crore film. A clip from the interview went viral amid Jawan's success. During the interview with the news channel, Shah Rukh was asked if it matters to him that a film should make it to the ₹100 crore club. The actor had replied, “Its too limiting to give a number. Why 100 crores? Make it 1000 crores. I like to wake up in the morning with unrealistic thoughts of a 1000 crore. Why am I limiting myself to a 100?”

At the press conference of Jawan in Mumbai, Shah Rukh revealed his children motivated him to make a comeback. He said, "I have not worked for a long time. I take everything positively. I was very nervous since I hadn't worked for a long time. Returning to a film set after 3 years itself was very new. I was feeling different. The whole thing was my elder son Aryan told me, "We knew when we were growing up what stardom in the air feels like because your films were hits." The daughter (Suhana) said, "I know it too". They said, "But the little one (AbRam) knows you are a star but never seen or felt it in the air. So, for the next 5 films, please work very hard, and make him feel it in the air. He'll love you, and respect you."
