Summer camps are a distant reality at a time when staying indoors is key to staying safe. Despite the current circumstances, the Mumbai-based not-for-profit organisation, Dhai Akshar Educational Trust has been hosting a virtual two-week summer camp for the underprivileged children it works with. For its grand finale over the weekend, the NGO has roped in Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha, who will host a special Q-&-A session with the kids.

Fazal has been associated with the organisation since its inception in 2013 and is on its board of advisors. The actor is proud to support the NGO that introduces the children to different subjects that are part of school curricula, with an added emphasis on personality development. “These children are curious, intelligent and have great aspirations. I am ready to face their questions during the open session and chat with them like buddies,” he says.

The objective of the open session is to encourage the kids to practise spoken English. While each student is allowed to pose one question to either star, the actors will highlight the importance of reading, setting life goals and taking care of the environment. “They have the spark to do something creative in the future. Doing such video sessions is important to boost their morale when they are not getting a chance to interact with each other due to the lockdown,” says Chadha.
