The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, hosted a Diwali party at 10 Downing Street. Along with political names, Indian celebrities were in attendance at the intimate yet star-studded bash. Celebrities like Preity Zinta, Akshay Kumar, and Twinkle Khanna were seen.

Sharing pictures from the Diwali 2023 bash at Rishi Sunak's residence, Preity wrote, "What an incredible Diwali this has been. A heartfelt thank you to Prime Minister @rishisunakmp & his gracious wife @akshatamurty_official for inviting me to be part of this year’s Diwali celebration at Downing Street. It was an honour to celebrate Diwali with him and the people from the Indian community in the UK (sic)."
Preity looked stunning in a blue and golden velvet ethnic outfit. Akshay wore a pastel-coloured kurta-pyjama whereas Twinkle was seen in an ivory and gold churidar. The UK PM was in a suit.
After celebrating Diwali 2023 at the Sunaks, Preity performed Lakshmi Puja at her residence in California with her husband. Sharing a picture from the Diwali 2023 celebration at home, the actress wrote, "Nothing like coming home after a hectic travel schedule. This year Diwali took me across three continents and gave me unforgettable memories and experiences. The jet lag & exhaustion seemed to melt away when I sat down for Lakshmi Puja. I’d like to wish everyone out there loads of love, positivity and light always. Jai Lakshmi Mata. Jai Shree Ram (sic)."

Akshay, who is in London, shared a picture on Instagram and wished his fans on Diwali 2023. His caption read, "May this Diwali bring joy and togetherness to your family and friends." Akshay is currently shooting for his upcoming film, titled Khel Khel Mein, in London. He started filming on October 21. Sharing a video on Instagram, the superstar wrote, "Can’t help but smile when the camera rolls! Day 1 in London for #KhelKhelMein, shooting begins. Need your love and best wishes (sic)."
Workwise, Preity was last seen in a Hindi film in 2018. She played the lead in Bhaiaji Superhit. The film also starring Sunny Deol, Arshad Warsi and Shreyas Talpade didn't work at the box office despite having big names. The actress is yet to return to acting.
