Nikhita Gandhi, speaks to mid-day.com as she plans a trip to the Himalayas, her favourite getaway! Join her on the ride...

Where are you off to today?
I love heading to the Himalayas for a getaway, on a nice quiet trek.

What’s on the itinerary?
Hiking through trails, breathing good pure air, eating that simple hard earned dal chawal at the end of a long trek. Enjoying the peace and quiet!

What’s on the menu?
When in the mountains, always eat local. From some of my earlier treks to Sandakphu ( highest peak in Bengal)  we would go to that only stall in the whole village and have steaming momos and hot thuppa!

Your fondest memories with friends and family...
Campfire nights! Snuggling in the cold and just sharing stories.

The craziest thing you have done in the Himalayas...
Stood at a milestone that says India on one side and Nepal on the other- I loved being in two countries at once!

What are you packing for the trip?
Comfortable trackpants and always layers! Treks can get hot so don’t just carry warm clothes!

Your holiday playlist...
None! I like to listen to nature for a change.
