Though the rumoured lovebirds prefer to be tight-lipped about their impending wedding, there have been speculations galore. It is said that their families got together to give their stamp of approval. They felt the festival of lights was an auspicious occasion to wish the couple a lifetime of love, joy and happiness. Apart from immediate family members, the private ceremony was attended by a handful of individuals close to Kat and Kaushal. The two attended producer Aarti Shetty’s Diwali bash in Juhu but made sure they made their entry and exit in their respective cars to avoid the paparazzi.

Not all heroes wear capes
To mark National Cancer Awareness Day (November 7), Madhuri Dixit-Nene’s younger son, Ryan, 16, donated his hair. He had been growing his locks for a cause. “Ryan felt heartbroken seeing patients lose their hair during chemotherapy. He took a call of donating it to the Cancer Society. As per guidelines, it took him two years to grow the required length,” shared the actor. Dixit added that she and husband Shriram Nene were “proud” of their “superhero” Ryan. Hair donations help NGOs produce wigs for cancer patients as hair loss is a common side-effect during treatment.

On Monday, President Ram Nath Kovind awarded the Padma Shri to Ekta Kapoor, Karan Johar and Kangana Ranaut. “This is a monumental day for me, my mother, my kids and my company, and will be etched in my memory,” posted KJo.
“It is a surreal moment and a matter of pride,” said Kapoor. “I always knew I wanted to earn respect and that is my treasure. Thank you India for this gift,” wrote Ranaut.
The perfect love story unfolds
The first look of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur in Tiku Weds Sheru was unveiled on Monday to coincide with producer Kangana Ranaut’s Padma Shri honour. The comic caper is helmed by Sai Kabir, who directed the Ranaut-starrer Revolver Rani (2014). “Beginning my journey as a producer is extremely special to me,” posted Kangy. Kaur was earlier seen in TV shows, Chandra Nandini and Aladdin — Naam Toh Suna Hoga.
Retelling history
Ahead of the release of his digital film, the Kartik Aaryan-starrer Dhamaka, Ram Madhvani announced his next, The Waking of a Nation. The web series is set against the backdrop of the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The six-part show will look at what led to the incident and what happened after it, which the filmmaker considers as important as what occurred on the day. Madhvani is working on the final draft of the script, which will be ready early next year. He is in talks with a leading streamer for the historical drama. The Neerja (2016) director is also amid the post-production of the second season of Aarya starring Sushmita Sen.
Biopic on Sitara Devi
On Monday, to mark Sitara Devi’s 101st birth anniversary, producer Raj C Anand announced a film based on her life. The kathak icon’s son, musician Ranjit Barot, is guiding the research team. “We intend to bring to the screen the untold story of her life,” says Barot. Sitara Devi passed away in 2014.

Lara Dutta Bhupathi is amused by the buzz that she has a profile on a dating app. The actor was taken aback when she was flooded with memes and messages about it on social media. “It has been crazy. I have been going nuts trying to tell people what the truth is. So, I thought it is better to go online and clarify,” the actor said in an Instagram video about her fake profile. Some fans told her they swiped right thinking it was her.
