Kareena Kapoor Khan shared that her character in the upcoming Hansal Mehta film was inspired in part by Hollywood star Kate Winslet’s acclaimed act in Mare of Easttown. She has wrapped the project that was shot in the UK under the working title The Buckingham Murders. Kapoor plays a detective and mother who investigates a murder in a town in Buckinghamshire. “I love  Mare of Easttown, and when Hansal came to me, I said this is something that I’ve really been dying to do. So we’ve moulded it on those lines.” The project also marks her debut as a producer. “I thought that if I love something so much, and this is a character that I wanted to play, it would be fun to produce.” She has also wrapped up the Indian adaptation of Japanese author Higashino Keigo’s bestselling 2005 novel, The Devotion of Suspect X.

Later, maybe?

Kartik Aaryan’s Shehzada, which was to release on February 10, has now been pushed to February 17. It is suggested that the decision was taken to account for the successful run of Shah Rukh Khan’s recently released movie. With the film still performing well in theatres, the makers of Aaryan’s film believed postponing the release would favour them.

Aapki rai?

American DJ Diplo, who recently took to the stage at the Lollapalooza music festival, performed while wearing a black sweatshirt that featured pictures of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Diplo played his hits, including Lean on, Where are you now, and the Punjabi song Mundian tu bach ke, at the festival. His attire sparked the interest of attendees and netizens. Riding to writing

Randeep Hooda, who is currently recovering from an injury, is using his time to explore the writer in him. The actor was recently injured while riding a horse after he reportedly fainted. The actor has penned many short stories inspired by real life, during his recovery. “Since I was playing a writer on screen, it seemed like a natural thing to do while recovering. It becomes difficult to be at absolute rest, and hence, I found a way to utilise my time in writing instead. It is scary to sit with a pen with a blank page in front of you (sic),” the actor shared on social media.

War of words

As Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his successful return to cinema after four years with Pathaan at a press conference, the controversy around Kangana Ranaut’s comments on India’s love for the Khans, gained attention again. After Uorfi Javed questioned Ranaut for dividing India with her comments, and stated that “art is not divided by religion”, Ranaut hit back. “That will be an ideal world, but it’s not possible unless we have the uniform civil code. Until then, this nation will be divided.”
