There probably isn’t a greater sign of the all-pervading nature of OTT platforms than this — Madhuri Dixit Nene, who spent over three decades dominating the big screen, is set to foray into digital entertainment. She has been intermittently shooting for the Karan Johar-backed The Actress in Nashik since October. “We will wrap up the shoot by March,” she states.

With showrunner Sri Rao at the helm, the suspense drama reportedly revolves around a superstar who suddenly vanishes without a trace. Dixit is as intrigued as she is excited about exploring long-format storytelling. “I love this format because it gives you time to develop your character and add nuances to it. You don’t have to say it all within three hours. So, it allows an actor to do so much more within the narrative.” Another reason she holds the project close to her heart is that it reunites her with Raja (1995) co-star Sanjay Kapoor. Thrilled to share screen space with him again after 25 years, she says, “It’s such a pleasure to work with Sanjay again. We keep talking about the wonderful memories of Raja.”
