Diwali is barely a few days away, and Bollywood is gearing up to celebrate the festival with fervour after the muted celebrations over the past two years. Ayushmann Khurrana kicked off the festive season with a bash at his house a few days ago.

Come Sunday, Ekta Kapoor will play host as friends and fraternity members gather at her Juhu address for her famous night-long rounds of card games. However, one hears that the Bachchans — known for the biggest Diwali bash in town — will skip hosting the event, this time around.

A source reveals, “The Bachchan family is still being cautious as the pandemic wanes. They thought it best to forgo the usual grand do that they host. All eyes are now on Anil and Sunita Kapoor, who will throw open the doors of their home for a grand bash on Saturday.” The couple understandably want to make it a memorable affair as it marks the first Diwali of their grandson Vayu Kapoor Ahuja. About 800 people are on the guest list. “The invites will go out today. The family wants to make it special for daughter Sonam and son-in-law Anand Ahuja who welcomed their baby in August.”
