Dilip Kumar draped with the Tricolour, accorded a state funeral

The veteran actor passed away today at the age of 98. Kumar’s aid Faisal Farooqui shared a video where the thespian’s body was draped with the Tricolour.

Dilip Kumar passed away today on July 7 at 98. Soon, tributes from all over began to pour on social media. With more than five decades of contribution to Hindi Cinema, he was one of the greatest actors to grace the silver screen. After his demise, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray announced that the actor’s funeral will be held with state honours and all the protocols.


The actor’s aid Faisal Farooqui shared a video on his Twitter account where his body was being draped with the Tricolour. Have a look right here:



His wife Saira Banu announced that his burial will be held today at 5 pm at Juhu Qabrastan, Santacruz Mumbai. Take a look at her tweet:

Apart from social media tributes, many famous personalities arrived at the legendary actor's residence in the suburbs of Mumbai. Dharmendra, Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Karan Johar, visited Kumar's residence to pay last respects to the late veteran star.

Just two days ago, Saira Banu Khan had tweeted about his improving medical condition, since her husband had been keeping unwell recently. But that was a short-lived glimmer of hope and he passed away around dawn Wednesday, plunging Bollywood, his billions of fans, followers and admirers around the world into the gloom.
