Celina Jaitly turns nostalgic as Adline Castelino bags 3rd Runner-Up title at the 69th Miss Universe Pageant

She shared a picture of Castelino and herself on her Instagram account and recalled her own journey when she was crowned the Miss Universe 2001 Runners-Up.

It was indeed a moment of pride for India at the recently held 69th Miss Universe Pageant as Adline Quadros Castelino was declared the 3rd Runner-Up at the event. The official page of Miss Diva on Twitter shared two pictures of her glory and triumph.

Seeing her victory, Celina Jaitly turned nostalgic and recalled the time when she was crowned the Miss Universe Runners-Up in 2001. She shared a picture of herself and Castelino and wrote that she didn’t imagine it would take India 20 years to reach this position again.

Last year, while shedding her thoughts on the insider-outsider debate, she stated in an interview, “I came into films also at a very young age and learning the ropes was not easy, so by the time I did feel I have grown and evolved, I realised that my chance to prove myself would cost higher than I had ever imagined. While having been the leading lady of some of the biggest blockbusters, I felt that my true due as an actor came only recently with my new critically acclaimed film, 'Seasons Greetings' by Ramkamal Mukherjee which is doing very well in international film festivals across the world."

She continued, "Despotism favours the despot, nepotism favours the despot's genes. One of the main things that I would like to point towards is that the children from film lineage have natural immunity from the sexual harassment that exists in Bollywood, other than that everyone has to work hard, some have to work harder than others."
