Fashion might consider orchestrated matchy-matchy moments as a hot ticket trend, but it doesn't hold true when it concerns stars. In fact, instances of accidental twinning are not particularly delightful for red carpet divas.

Case in point: Samantha Jones and Miley Cyrus in Sex And The City 2 (2010), and how they diffused the blunder by grabbing a photographer and making light of the situation. Kangana Ranaut faced a similar dilemma when she shared the stage with Dia Mirza, who was hosting a recently held beauty awards.

Both dressed in scarlet evening gowns with slicked back hairstyles. "We look like long-lost twins," said Ranaut when she got to the stage. To which, Dia joined in with, "we're twinning tonight," with a smile in place. And just like that, all was well in the twinning universe until Ranaut ended the quip with a faux pas — "It's okay, you are after all a Miss World, right!" Mirza was named Miss Asia Pacific in 2000.

On the work front, Kangana will be seen in  Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. The film is directed by Krish and has been locked for release on January 25, 2019.
