After Mission Istanbul, Vivek Oberoi and Apoorva Lakhia had fallen apart but are now on talking terms
Vivek Oberoi and Apoorva Lakhia had a fallout after the release of Mission Istanbul and have now patched up. They are on talking terms again.
Things turned sour
The problem started when Lakhia made an out-of-turn remark about Vivek. An insider recalls, "It started when the release date of Mission Istanbul got postponed. Vivek had kept aside a month for the promotion but because of the delay, those dates were now with Kumar Taurani for Prince." 
Things between them soured whenu00a0 Apu made a derogatory remark about Vivek being absent at a press conference. Just before the release, when Vivek flew to Mumbai for au00a0 special show, he asked the director about his comment.u00a0Apu apologised to him saying he hadn't meant it but got carried away in the heat of the moment. Since then, things remained strained between Vivek and Apu.
That was, until 10 days ago when Apu's Chief Assistant Director called Vivek and asked him if he would do a special appearance or an item song for Lakhia's first home production, Hide & Seek. The film has been directed by Shawn Arranha, who was a good friend of Vivek. VO immediately agreed and assured the AD that he would always be available for anything that involved Apu or Shawn.
Later, Vivek called up Apu and things have returned to normal between them. While Apu told him he had loved the Prince promos, Vivek said he was looking forward to Hide & Seek."
No problem
Apoorva Lakhia denies there were any problems between Vivek and him. "I have never had any issues with my actors and I repeat them in my films. There was never any issue with Vivek too."
Vivek says, "It would be unfair to remember that Apu spoke against me just that once in a fit of emotion, for he has also been and continues to be, a very vocal and vociferous supporter of mine. He's been a good friend when I needed one the most and I am not the kind of man who forgets that."
