Logistics issues at Diljit Dosanjh's Delhi show lead to girl's hospitalisation

Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh wowed fans in Delhi with his high-energy gig over the weekend. However, for some attendees, the excitement was dampened by logistical issues at the venue.  A fan who attended the singer's first concert on Saturday night, revealed that a girl nearly passed out and was subsequently taken to the hospital due to the chaotic conditions at the venue. The fan voiced his disappointment online, describing the event as “absolute chaos”. In a viral thread on X, he detailed his frustrations, highlighting disorganization, overcrowding, and long waits that overshadowed what could have been an incredible experience. The fan, who paid Rs. 15,000 for Gold Pit tickets, wrote, “Diljit was amazing, but his concert was not. Even after paying so much, we were left waiting endlessly. The gates didn't open until 5:30 PM, and then the concert didn’t start until 8 PM. From 5 to 7 PM, it was just random Zomato and Kingfisher ads with no opening act.” He then highlighted the appalling condition of the women's washrooms, mentioning that they lacked proper lighting, had a foul odor, and were unsanitary—hardly what one would anticipate after spending thousands on tickets. “A girl nearby passed out, and no one from the staff came to help her. Eventually, she was taken to the FIRST AID and then to hospital, but this happened before the concert even started. Felt like a serious lack of organization and concern for safety,” his post read. In series of subsequent threads, The fan also pointed out that one of the most frustrating aspects of the entire experience was the disorder at the food and beverage counters. He noted that only two counters were available to serve the thousands of Diljit fans, leading to "absolute chaos." The user concluded the post saying, “Overall, Diljit’s performance was great. He's truly a vibe. But the concert experience was poorly organized and definitely not worth the price tag. The management could have been much, much better.” Several users took to social media to criticize the organizers for their mishandling of the concert. On a related note, the Delhi performance kicked off Diljit Dosanjh's 10-city tour, which will include stops in Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, and others. Dosanjh kickstarted the Indian leg of his Dil-luminati tour in the national capital on October 26. The singer performed at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The Dil-luminati tour will culminate in Guwahati on December 29.

Karan Arjun was a blockbuster when it released in 1995

Nov 22 ko Karan Arjun aayenge! Salman-SRK's film to re-release after 30 years

Monday morning has started off on an exciting note for Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan's fans and for the lovers of 90s' Bollywood cinema at large. The iconic Karan Arjun, the quintessential masala entertainer from 1995, is coming back to theatres after 30 years. Rakhi was right - 'Karan Arjun aayenge'! The film is directed and produced by Rakesh Roshan, starring Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Raakhee Gulzar, Mamta Kulkarni and Kajol in lead roles. Amrish Puri portrays the main antagonist, while Johnny Lever, Arjun, Jack Gaud, Ranjeet and Aasif Sheikh appear in supporting roles. The film revolves around the story of the two titular brothers who seek revenge from their greedy uncle for murdering their father but are killed by him and are reincarnated to complete the revenge. Shah Rukh and Salman play the brothers, while Rakhi plays their mother, in one of the most iconic roles of her career. Karan Arjun re-releasing after 30 years Director-producer Rakesh Roshan shared the announcement with a new teaser of the film. The 1-minute teaser takes viewers on a trip down the memory lane of this reincarnation-revenge saga. Rakesh Roshan wrote on his Instagram, “Karan Arjun aa rahe hai! Witness the reincarnation across the globe in cinema halls from November 22nd 2024”. Announcing the re-release, Salman Khan posted a video clip of the film and said, "Raakhi ji ne sahi kaha tha film mein ki mere Karan Arjun aayenge … November 22 ko duniya bhar ke cinema gharon mein!"           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Salman Khan (@beingsalmankhan) First film to star Salman-SRK together Shah Rukh Khan and Salman have starred in many popular films, but this one remains special for bringing the two superstars of Bollywood together, which is a rare occurrence. In fact, it was the first film to cast them together. Of the few films that they have starred together in (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam) - Karan Arjun remains the most popular.  From dialogues to songs, Karan Arjun was a raging hit when it released in 1995. Who can forget Kajol and SRK rolling on a pile of hay on a farm in 'Jaati Hoon Main', or Mamta Kulkarni's killer moves in 'Gup Chup Gup Chup'. Also the super energetic 'Bhangra Paa Le' and 'Jai Maa Kaali'. 'Yeh Bandhan Toh', picturised on Rakhi and her two on-screen sons remains the most symbolic song about the bond between a mother and two brothers. The music and background score were composed by Rajesh Roshan and lyrics for all the songs were penned by Indeevar. The film emerged as a blockbuster and one of the top-grossing films of the year witnessing a golden 50-week run in 76 centres at the time of its release. Over the years, Karan Arjun has remained etched in pop culture due to its high-on-recall dialogues like 'Mere Karan Arjun Aayenge', 'Bhaag Arjun Bhaag!', soul-stirring music by Rajesh Roshan in songs like 'Yeh Bandhan Toh...', 'Bhangda Paale', 'Rana ji Maaf Karna' and 'Jaati Hoon Main' along with the endearing theme of brotherhood.

Arushi Sharma on reuniting with Imtiaz Ali for 'My Melbourne'

Even before she read the script of My Melbourne, actor Arushi Sharma was thrilled by the prospect of shooting with an international cast and crew for the upcoming anthology. The four-part film, helmed by Onir, Rima Das, Arif Ali, and Kabir Khan, is set in Melbourne, Australia, and explores the themes of sexuality, race, gender, and disability.  Sharma, who stars in Ali’s Jules, says, “This was an opportunity to get out of my comfort zone. When I began shooting there, I was taken aback on the first day. No one pampers the actors. You have to take care of yourself,” she says of her experience of shooting for the film that had its Asian première at the recently concluded MAMI Mumbai Film Festival. Imtiaz Ali Revolving around an Indian girl who migrates to Australia with her husband, and finds comfort in the company of a homeless woman named Jules, the film also benefited from inputs by Ali’s brother, Imtiaz Ali, who served as its creative director. “The story is relevant. Many people from different ethnicities came up to me during the shoot [to share their experiences]. An African woman was moved to tears and told me, ‘This is my story. I have felt like this: working behind the scenes while nobody pays attention to what I do.’” However, Jules was particularly special for Sharma because it brought her back under Imtiaz’s fold, a director who helmed her first two Bollywood films, Tamasha (2015), and Love Aaj Kal (2020). “The vibe we share is special. I haven’t met a filmmaker who explains the scene, character, and mood as accurately as he does.” When Love Aaj Kal didn’t fare well, it was its director Imtiaz who helped her come to terms with its failure. “I thought I would get one offer after another because I thought the film would be a blockbuster. But, I had no work for seven months. Imtiaz sir told me, ‘People say, you are the best thing in the film. Take that feedback and move forward.’”
