What's it about: This was to be IT. Michael Jackson's last concert, the King of Pop's final show, a treat for fans who've wanted him to return and do what he does best entertain the hell out of everyone! However, Jackson's death shocked those rehearsing with him weeks and days before the tragic day.

This Is It is not a movie, or even a documentary, it's more of a behind the scenes, sneak peek into the life of one of the most controversial and mystical entertainers the world has ever seen.

Creative director Kenny Ortega has edited and put together scenes and footage from whatever material they recorded days into rehearsal to the final day.

What's hot: The beauty of this film is that it isn't just a two- hour long musical showcase.u00a0There's more to it than Jackson doing his signature moonwalk or harmonizing new melodies to his old hits.

This is a rare chance to see the genius at work. Different in subject and style from the Martin Bashir interview we saw a few years ago, this one stays away from the allegations and the murmurs in the Neverland corridors, instead it focuses on the magic of the performer Jackson was.

The common thread that links all his performances in the film is the humility, sensitivity and musical ingenuity of the guy. Despite the plummeting sales over the years and his countless courtroom appearances the one thing that remains unchanged is Jackson's ability to stay true to his music.u00a0

Even though he's miming the songs, even an empty auditorium fills up with electricity when he does his thing. One also gets to see the light side of him as he jokes and sometimes sprinkles sarcasm in his conversations with Ortega and his band.

What's not: The footage mostly focuses on his performances, laced with portions of his interactions with the crew. One wishes we could see more of MJ in the process of ideating and discussing and conceptualising the tour.

Also those expecting to see the crazy side of him will be disappointed. This is a tribute and not an attempt to portray him in the most accurate fashion.

What to do: Die hard fans will eat this up. Forget the drama, forget the allegations and the charges, this is a rare opportunity to get front row seats to a concert that would truly have been the biggest and the brightest show ever put together by a living entertainer.
