Several of Bandra's bylanes have murals of Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Dev Anand and Amrish Puri adorning the facades of homes. A portrait of Madhubala occupies pride of place on Chapel Road. Giving her company will now be Sridevi.

Yesterday, we spotted a bunch of artistes giving the final touches to the art work, which is the late actor's look from Gurudev (1993). It will be unveiled today to mark her 55th birth anniversary. The mural is part of Ranjit Dahiya's Bollywood Art Project, the name behind the murals that also dot Waroda Road and Ranwar. Sri too loved to paint, especially portraits of Michael Jackson, as she was a fan of the King of Pop.

August 13 marks the 55th birth anniversary of Sridevi. The actor passed away in February. The Padma Shri recipient passed away in Dubai on February 25 due to cardiac arrest. Sridevi was there to attend the marriage function of actress Sonam Kapoor's cousin Mohit Marwah, along with husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi. Her other daughter Janhvi stayed back reportedly due to work commitment towards her debut film "Dhadak".

She is remembered for her performances in some of the iconic Bollywood films like Mr. India, Nagina, Sadma, ChalBaaz, Chandni, Khuda Gawah, among many others in different Indian languages. Sridevi, who made a comeback to Bollywood in 2012 with English Vinglish after a long break of 15 years, was last seen in Mom in 2017.
