Sajid Khan took a potshot at film critics at the Sabsey Favourite Kaun awards that happened on Wednesday by doing a qawwali on them and the judgment they exercise while rating films.

Replaced?
The actor-director, who has been the face of the Star Screen Awards for the last five years, had a war of words with director Ashutosh Gowariker last year at the event. This year, the actor is doing a different awards show. Does that indicate that Sajid has been replaced for that one indiscretion?

Is that also why Sajid has now decided not to spoof awards shows, films, actors or directors, and in stead make film critics his target this year?
When asked if he was taking on critics because he doesn't want to upset B-Town, he defends himself with, "I am not taking a panga. This is purely an attempt to entertain my audience. That's always been my one and only motive."

The baffling thing
About the ideation behind the qawwali, he says, "Reviews are a hot topic in the industry. The baffling thing is that the films with the lowest ratings have turned out to be the biggest blockbusters. While those with three or four stars have sunk at the box office."

He takes pain to stress that it is all in jest. And adds that he isn't worried about the wrath of the critics affecting the box-office status of Housefull releasing next year. "Not just critics, I can claim that everyone will watch the movie at least twice."
