Mirch Masala: A wonderful ensemble cast with Ketan Mehta at the helm. This is a movie I have etched in my mind since childhood as I watched it over and over again with my grandmother. I think we enjoyed it for different reasons.Till her dying days, she warned me about my dearest Naseer, being a really bad man!

Raging Bull: An amazing and ageless black and white experience. When I saw it first I thought Robert De Niro was actually the fighter being captured candidly. I almost wanted to be this loser. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly: I think my love for horses stems from this movie. I first saw it in the school auditorium and couldn't sleep all night wanting to mount a horse first thing in the morning. I did. Eli Wallach, Lee Van Cleef, the film's music, big eternal landscapes, and of course Clint Eastwood who I thought was the coolest man to walk or rather ride this earth. Still do.

Ghulami: We used to own the VHS of this movie which I saw many, many times. The desert landscapes, the haves and have nots conflict over water, guns, horses, Dharmendra's 'master', Kulbhushan Kharbanda's 'thank you', Mithun's 'koi shaque', Smita Patil's righteousness, Naseer's 'devil', and many many memorable scenesu00a0-- pani toh pani hove hai, pani pani mein ke pharak hove hai". Still beleive in it!

Enter the Dragon: Bruce Lee was a phenomenon at the time. We used to hear all kinds of stories about his speed and super human strength. Then I saw this movie and it all came true. My younger brother Sunny got a few black eyes and broken ribs (only because I was much bigger) every time we saw it. Poor guy always played the many baddies Bruce Lee bashed up!
