This time Javed Jaffrey's timing was completely off. "Eight to ten skinny clad firang women in front of me and I had to injure my knee. I couldn't have chosen worse timing," he rues. The man, who is nursing the knee he hurt while shooting the climax of his upcoming film and is now awaiting a minor surgery, talks about things other than comedy: 
Being a sport
I'm a huge adventure sports fan. Scuba diving is my favourite sport and I'm an advanced diver. I have got my children certified too. However, they are still to share my love for exploring the world underwater. Every year I take three holidays to go scuba diving as it completely de-stresses me. I love going to Maldives in September-October as you get to see huge whales, sharks and manta rays. I'm planning to go on a scuba diving expedition where I get to spend three weeks on a yacht and conduct three dives in a day. I've also tried my hand at skydiving and paragliding. Every year I go to Zermatt in Switzerland with my family for ten days. Paragliding is a must-do there. In fact, I wanted to enroll my family in a week-long paragliding course, but I guess I'll have to postpone that till I get a go-ahead from my doctors.
Serious thought
I have a split personality -- one side is completely whacky, while the other is serious and spiritual. Religion intrigues me. I've studied Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism and Islam. From now on I've decided that I want to work on cinema that's meaningful to me. Not that I haven't done serious roles before or am going to quit doing comedy, but I'd love to enact Dilip Kumar's role in Ganga Jamuna or Amitabh Bachchan's character from Deewar. Actors like Kamal Haasan and Dustin Hoffman really inspire me.
Toy boy
Call me a techie if you want, but I love spending a lot of time in my den with my home theatre system and other toys. But I'm not a gaming person like my brother and my youngest son. I play games on my phone while on the move. I love playing Scrabble on Word with Friends or car games. I thoroughly hate war games; they are too violent. I closely monitor the games my kids play. I also browse a lot. I like to get condensed knowledge and love reading about science and popular mechanics and the likes. And when it comes to television, I steer clear of soaps. I prefer information channels instead.
