Nana Patekar, who was all set to star in Sajid Khan's Housefull remake, has apparently opted out of the film for his son's sake.
Reveals a reliable insider, "Nana's son Malhar is an aspiring actor and is gearing up for his debut. The veteran actor plans to direct his son's flick, which the youngster has also penned.
The film goes on floors in April and the dedicated father wants to concentrate on his beta's film. He called Sajid up and begged off the film."
Adds the source, "Boman Irani will now reprise that role."
However, Sajid Khan completely denies this. "Its untrue. I never said that Nana Patekar was part of the film in the first place," he retorts.
He insists, "Only Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh, Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Asin and Jaqueline Fernandez are confirmed.
I have yet to decide on the rest of the cast. Where's the question of Nana opting out when he wasn't part of the cast at all?"
