Meghna Gulzar's documentary 'Closer' to premiere at the first International Film Festival for the Persons with Disabilities

Meghna Gulzar's four-year-old documentary, 'Closer', is all set to be screened at the first International Film Festival for the Persons with Disabilities (IFFPD), which will be held at Siri Fort auditorium, New Delhi from December 1-3. The project will also compete under the documentary section in the festival.

Talking about the project, a source says, "The director spoke to several parents of children suffering from developmental disabilities for the documentary. Closer uncovers the difficulties and delays in diagnosis or misdiagnosis of the disorders, the emotional hardships faced by the disabled child as well as the entire family."
"Meghna's film will be screened on December 2 and will also compete under the documentary section. Her father, Gulzar, will also attend the opening day and the second day of IFFPD," adds the source.
"The film was made four years ago. It is the first time that Closer will be screened at a film festival. The film deals with development disorders," says Meghna adding that there are plans to release the film online after seeking the audiences' response at IFFPD.
