Ranaut says no to the superhero sequel toplining Hrithik Roshan

Kangna Ranaut was offered a significant role in the Krrish sequel but she turned down the role. Priyanka Chopra and Hrithik Roshan play lead parts in the film.

Kangs and the Roshans became friends after Kites, she was the natural choice for the second lead role. The part is along the lines of Catwoman but she turned it down.

Her reservations

According to a source, both papa and beta Roshan tried to convince Kangs to take up the role. "But she explained to them about her reservations.

Hrithik even told her that the role had scope for action and that it had been scripted with her in mind but she maintained that she didn't want to play second fiddle to another actress."

Says a close friend of the actress, "She is keen on doing strong female lead roles. Not ones that offer just glamour and songs.

She is the leading lady in Tanu Weds Manu with Madhavan, Rascals with Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn and Arjun Rampal, Game with Abhishek Bachchan and Dhamaal 2, and feels she shouldn't be doing cameos at this point."

The friend explains KR's new stance post-Fashion. "Priyanka went on to do better films but Kangna kept getting asked to play second fiddle.

So obviously, she is wary of similar roles." Rakesh Roshan, however, maintains, "Kangna wasn't offered a role. Only Priyanka (Chopra) is final."
