Buzz is that Bachchan Jr may be replaced in Mohit Suri's next due to Players' poor opening
It's an old Bollywood trait to rush to sign up an actor after a hit and then to develop cold feet about him or her after a flop or two.
The latest victim of this tradition is Abhishek Bachchan. Buzz is that producer Ramesh Taurani is considering replacing him in his Mohit Suri-directed movie after his Players failed to garner a decent initial. A source reveals that Taurani has taken the poor opening of Bachchan Junior's recent release seriously.

"Keeping in mind the below-par opening (under Rs 15 crore) Players generated in the first three days, the makers are contemplating dropping Abhishek," says the source. Never mind if the other actor is Fardeen Khan, who hasn't had a hit in a long time either!
The source adds, "Abhishek was finalised because he's in a much stronger position than Fardeen. Besides, he's a good actor and has a decent number of films with big banners in his kitty. But after Players failing to get an initial, Taurani thought he was better off banking on someone who could guarantee a good opening."
Taurani however maintains, "Abhishek wasn't finalised for Mohit's film, so where's the question of replacing him?" He says, "Yes, of course, I'm producing a film with Abhishek, but we've yet to finalise which film we'll cast him in. As for Mohit's movie, we're yet to finalise the cast."
A friend of Abhishek reiterates that the actor is doing a film with Ramesh Taurani. He explains, "Apart from Abhishek and Fardeen, two more actors are to be signed for Mohit Suri's film. As it's a road film about four guys, until they get the right cast, they can't begin . Hence, Rameshji is making another film with Abhishek in the interim."
