Before the internet: Siddharth sang at All India Radio and local channels in Jammu and aced state and national level singing competitions.
In the beginning: He posted his first ever video online back in 2009.
Why he did it: “I wanted to showcase my singing to the world, and connect with people. I would absolutely love to be in the Bollywood music industry,” he says.
Famous for: Melodious covers of popular songs and videos of live performances. He also posts tutorials for amateurs on how to sing.
Maximum hits: His rendition of Bhojpuri song Lollipop with Kimberly McDonough got over a million hits.
Offline rewards: UK-based producers of Pakistani origin connected with him after noticing his videos. The outcome is an album set for release later this year in India, Pakistan and the UK.
Latest project: Mast Maula, a YouTube Jammin single composed by Salim-Sulaiman and sung by Salim Merchant, featuring Siddharth, released on August 26. Says Siddharth, “When I heard about Jammin’ from Qyuki for the first time, I was very excited to work with Bollywood composers like Salim-Sulaiman. They caught my personality in the first meeting and distilled it into Mast Maula.”
