Dhadak box office collection day 2: Janhvi-Ishaan's film mints Rs 11.04 crore

One of the most anticipated films of 2018 and newbiew Ishaan Khatter - Janhvi Kapoor's Dhadak is doing great business at the box office. The film, which released on Friday, July 13 collected Rs. 8.71 crore on day 1. Apart from the heavy promotions, the positive word of mouth has helped the film see a jump on its second day collection.


On Saturday, Dhadak minted Rs 11.04 crore, which is a rise of 30 per cent from its day 1 collection. The total two-day collection of the film sums upto Rs 19.75 crore. Produced under the banner of Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Zee Studios, Dhadak has emerged to be the first film to make the highest collection on its first day for newcomers. It has surpassed Johar's Student of The Year (2012) starring Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra, which approximately collected Rs 8 crore on it's first day.


Dhadak, an official adaptation of Marathi blockbuster film Sairat is being appreciated by the audiences. Ishaan and Janhvi portray the characters of Madhukar and Parthavi in the film. 


The film has been helmed by Shashank Khaitan, who has earlier directed Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Dhadak shows high potential of surviving the box office competition.
