What is amazing was there was a clear jump of 15 per cent from Saturday to Sunday. Also, the occupancy in our cinemas on Friday was 80 per cent which grew to 85 on Saturday and Sunday it touched 92.5 per cent.’’
When told that despite mixed reactions to the film the numbers are humungous, he said, “It is only the social media who are ripping the film apart and one cannot satisfy everyone.’’
Despite mixed reviews the film continued to bring in the numbers at the box office. Trade analyst Komal Nahata said, “I see the total weekend to be about Rs 109.5 crore which will be the highest ever which includes the collection of Tamil and Telugu versions of the film. It seems poised to be easily be the first Rs 300 crore film. Overseas it should easily gross equivalent of Rs 150 crore again a record.’’
The film is doing well in single screens too. Manoj Desai of G-7 multiplex said, “The film is doing very well at my cinemas and we are running to full house. The only drop I see today is in the matinee shows and I also see the length of the film is an issue with the audiences.’’u00a0
