Mumbai’s Metro Line 3, to be also known as the Aqua Line, is set to become one of the mega city’s landmark creations. Once operational, the fully underground Metro Line 3 will connect Mumbai’s business and residential hubs of Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ to provide Mumbaikars seamless connectivity, ensuring a safe and efficient commute.

Ravin Group has collaborated with J Kumar & Mumbai Metro to enhance the safety and reliability of the project that promises to transform Mumbai’s people transport network. Ravin has supplied “Ignamo” fire-safe cables for the project. Apart from Mumbai Metro, these cables have been used in other Metro projects nationwide, including the ones in Pune and Jammu & Kashmir. Ravin has supplied over 3,000 kilometres of cables to these marquee projects.

The Ignamo fire survival cables are designed to withstand the severest of fires for a period of 120 minutes and more without losing its circuit integrity. Also, these cables do not emit harmful substances, such as smoke or toxic fumes, when they catch fire. They are designed, manufactured and tested in the most exacting conditions to meet the highest safety and performance standards and then installed under expert supervision. The Ignamo wires are ideal for underground Metros, enclosed places, and high-rise buildings where fires can spread quickly, causing extensive damage to lives and property.

The Metro Line 3 is a tribute to India’s technological and engineering prowess. Ravin Group has been a part of India’s progress as an engineering power and is an integral contributor to the transformative advancement in Mumbai’s transportation landscape.

Ravin Group is one of the few Indian entities that have dispelled the long-held notion that India does not possess the ability to manufacture specialty fire survival products. Ravin Group has gone beyond being a supplier and is actively supervising its installation for the Metro Line 3 underground stretch from SEEPZ to Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) in Phase I and then up to Colaba in Phase II.

Ravin Group has played a vital role in carrying out various Extra High Voltage Projects in Mumbai, adding to more than 1,800 MW of additional supply of electricity through its expertise in such projects.
