Kanthi Dutt announces his new venture

Kanthi Dutt continues to face his battles and fight the stigma of a young entrepreneur possibly committing a mistake.

In a recent Instagram post Kanthi Dutt mentioned Rizwan Sajan, the kind of real estate and founder of Danube Homes to be his inspiration for his upcoming venture. There are speculations around his next venture being in the real estate domain. Various sources also claim that Dutt’s father is primarily into real estate. Dutt stated “Very early in my career, my dad once said, Most millionaires become so through real estate”.

It has come to spotlight about shut down of SustainKart through a statement that Kanthi Dutt shared on his social media. He mentioned, “Despite all the best efforts we have put into the start-up, the company did not perform well”. SustainKart was founded by Shilpa Reddy and Kanthi Dutt, basis Shilpa Reddy’s interest in sustainability. After raising two rounds of seed funding of half a million dollars the company has shut its operations. He also stated that he repents about partnering with India Accelerator, a Delhi based startup accelerator that allegedly has no successful start-ups in its kitty.

Kanthi Dutt has also indirectly claimed that he lost belief in the future for sustainable products consumption in India, based on the consumption statistics. “Public have always considered sustainability to be expensive. Closing down at an early stage, before raising 10s or 100s of millions of dollars is a responsible move”, a few from the industry say.

Sources state that Dutt has quit school and began his career right after his 10th grade. In his past interviews, he has also highlighted how ageism played a negative impact on his career and mental health. Now at 25, Kanthi Dutt continues to face his battles and fight the stigma of a young entrepreneur possibly committing a mistake. He quoted “This is not my end”.

Several LinkedIn posts supporting founders have come to spotlight. A few quote our definite need of stricter laws to address founder bullying and killing of careers. Often media is used for defamation and setting up web of lies with an attempt to strip the founders publicly. The battle between freedom of speech and defamation is never ending.
