TBS Media – The Brand Story organized the Indian Brand and Leadership Conclave 2022 for honouring brands and individuals that have done inspiring work in their respective fields. The 2022 edition focused on business leadership challenges and honoured people who have successfully overcome these challenges innovatively and inclusively. Dr Grace Pinto has made a phenomenal difference in touching the lives of children by providing quality education in India. As a leader, she stands tall, donning multiple roles with ease and efficiency. Passionate about teaching, she took a keen interest in children’s development and commenced her journey as a teacher in the city of Mumbai. Along with her husband, a visionary, Dr A F Pinto, Chairman, Ryan Group, she began her mission of making education accessible and affordable to the children of India. As Managing Director, her perseverance coupled with a deep and abiding faith in Lord Jesus Christ has enabled her to partner with her husband in building one of India's largest privately owned and managed chains of over 137 institutions spread across the country offering K-12 curriculum through the state, national, and international boards of education. The group has 18,000 faculty members spread across 18 states and 40 cities of India. Every year, more than 20,000 children pass through Ryan Group of Schools.
In keeping with the motto, 'Excellence in Education and All Round Development,' under her leadership, the Ryan Group aims to provide a holistic education through the integration of academics and co-curricular activities as well as learning opportunities beyond the classroom. With the changing trends and industry needs students are provided with training to be better prepared and be able to adapt to the changing world. They are encouraged to develop 21st-century skills with a global perspective. Dr Grace Pinto believes in nurturing lifelong learners, and in the idea that education should be experiential and immersive into arts, culture and international relations. She has worked with her team to pioneer a number of national and international events to develop different life skills among students. Under her leadership, Ryan Grouphas been one of the top institutions to organize the International Theatre Festival, Indian Model United Nations, The World Scholar’s Cup, International Cultural Exchange, Ryan TV - A Media Initiative, and many other projects.
Dr Grace’s willingness to reach out to society and support social causes has also been remarkable. She champions the cause of the underprivileged as well as the welfare of senior citizens through several initiatives. These include the adoption of orphanages, blind homes, and homes for the elderly; initiation of women empowerment programs; community outreach programs including village adoption, hygiene programs and health camps; and the provision of relief and rehabilitation measures for disaster-affected communities.
Even as the year 2020 witnessed the major challenge of the pandemic, Dr Grace Pinto along with her team was quick to adapt to the e-learning and ensured the Ryan Group continued with the teaching and learning process. As a nationwide group, the focus now is on innovation in leveraging technology and its tools and various strategies to integrate new learning methods to ensure that children are engaged in an enriching learning experience. She remains committed to fostering industry-academia partnerships to impart 21st-century skills and provide new avenues to students for learning by doing. She wants students to upskill, reskill and reinvent themselves to keep up with an ever-changing world and emerge not only as industry ready employable youth but also choose their own vocations to be researchers, entrepreneurs and contribute to society.
Owing to the work that she has done in the education field, Dr Grace Pinto and the Ryan Group have been recognized and bestowed with innumerable awards. Some of the recent awards and recognitions that Dr Grace has won include the Albert Einstein Award 2021 by Asia Africa Consortium; ShikshaBhushanSanman 2021; Life Time Achievement Award 2021 by Hon’ble Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Shri RamdasAthawale; HelpAge India - Samson Daniel Award 2019; ‘Global Leaders Award' at the 2nd edition of 'India UAE Partnership Summit' 2018 (IUPS); “Education Evangelist of the Year” Award by Baroness Verma, a Conservative member of the House of Lords (UK) at London; and Guinness Book of World Records for the highest charity donations.
