Cyber Boy Corp. Pledges Substantial Contribution to Indio Middle School

BEVERLY HILLS, CA - The rising number of chronic absenteeism in schools nationwide is reaching an alarming level. Last year Indio Middle School had 42% of students qualify as being chronically absent which is defined as missing 10% or more of the school year or 18 days. Realizing the urgency of the matter, Cyber Boy Corp. led by Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Sr. Roy Andrade, 41, has donated an undisclosed amount to the school to combat this pressing issue.

Sr. Roy Andrade's philanthropic move not only underscores the gravity of his corporate responsibility but also highlights the increasing significance of tech industry leaders directly investing in education. This contribution is not just about the monetary aspect; it's about shaping futures and influencing positive change.

“Donations like that given by Sr. Andrade make a big difference in our efforts to keep kids in school and off the streets,” says Joann Bailin, Project Teacher, Attendance & Testing at Indio Middle School.

Since COVID pandemic exacerbated absenteeism among students, teachers and administrators have been working with students and their families to encourage good attendance and emphasize the academic and social impact of missed days. But it’s not a localized issue. The reasons range from health concerns and online education challenges to socio-economic factors that have been intensified by the pandemic. This surge in absenteeism underscores a need for comprehensive strategies to bring students back to school and ensure they receive quality education.

With Sr. Andrade’s donations, Bailin is optimistic about the future. It's a testament to the belief that every student deserves a fighting chance at a brighter future, and sometimes, all they need is a little nudge or support to get there. “Unity, collaboration, and purpose-driven investments can truly alter the educational landscape for countless students,” she concludes.
