Social Media Campaigning demands interaction and growth on one or more social media platforms to establish or promote a specific company goal. This requires more concentration, targeting, and study than standard social media marketing. And in doing so, people find ways to skyrocket the process and results.

Bots - The Not-So-New Trends

Kumud Ranjan, Founder, Next Resources

Social Media Bots are a "not so new" trend that has become significantly more frequent in today's tech-savvy imaginative world. Talking about the same, Kumud Ranjan, Founder at Next Resources suggest some of the disadvantages of using social media bots to boost your profile or increase engagement.

Automated programmes that engage in social media activity are known as social media bots. These bots can be semi-autonomous or totally autonomous, and they're often made to seem like humans. While some social media bots are useful, many others are used in unethical and dishonest ways.

Let's move on to another important aspect of social media automation: when you utilize software or other methods to schedule and post content across many channels. This application simplifies social media scheduling, curating, and posting. It also includes handy statistics and stats data that show you how well your posts are doing and resonating with your target consumers. Of course, automation tools are limited in their capabilities.

REASONS TO NOT USE BOTS

Uncomfortable Situation and Insensitive Remarks -

Bots are, as previously said, as a result, they ignore the context and focus solely on adding comments, messages, or hashtags. This opens a whole new world of temperamental concerns.

People sometimes laugh off these messages and remarks because they realise they're not from a genuine person, which tarnishes the account's image.

There isn't any genuine interaction -

Bots will never be able to capture the spirit of human contact. The majority of people can tell the comments aren't from a real person, therefore it's not surprise that engagement with those remarks is minimal.

Your Instagram account will be a disaster -

You'll have an incredibly random feed if you follow thousands of accounts. Expect posts from relevant people to be buried as you add more random followers to your network. If you don't care about your feed, this may not be a major concern, but if you use Instagram to communicate with your friends and family, there will be serious ramifications.

They Violate Instagram’s Terms of Use.

This, in my opinion, should be the number one reason to avoid utilising bots. If an Instagram bot uses the platform's API without first obtaining permission from the platform. This is against Instagram's Terms of Service. Anyone who reads the policies will understand what a bot can do in terms of legal consequences and how a bot can be banned.

Shadow Banning.

Human science's smartest digital instrument is social media. Social media's sophisticated algorithm detects when your behavior is out of the ordinary. As a result, shadow banning is implemented. Non-followers will be unable to see your material due to a shadowban. That implies that your photographs will not appear in the feeds of others, regardless of the hashtags you put in your post.

The bottom line is that deploying bots for growth is a bad idea because the production won't be organic and can harm the company's reputation.
