Mohammad Kaif: Let me tell you a story. My father—Mohammad Tarif—was an inspiration & a role model for me, my two brothers—Asif & Saif & younger sister Uzma while we were growing up. He played 60 First-Class matches & would share his experiences. Every story taught us a lesson. As I grew up I understood he was an embodiment of humility.

He was a ticket collector. During his playing days, he would play during the day & work at night often sacrificing his sleep. When I started playing cricket I’d travel by train accompanied by my father who used to be on duty. Many times he would give up his sleeping berth so that I slept comfortably. He did that to old people, women who were accompanied by small children who had no berth to sleep. And he would be awake the whole night.

Whatever I wanted as a kid he’d arrange for me. He never let me know about the financial crunch at home. He instilled values in me which helped me become a good human being. “Be a good human being always,” he would say. I remember the joy on his face when I represented India Under-15 when we won the Under-19 World Cup & when I represented India. I was happy to see my father happy.

Now I’m a father of two kids & their happiness means everything to me. I have the best father who is my role model & one who supported me wholeheartedly. I’d like to do the same for my kids.

There’s a quote: “A father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable people in everyone's life.” That’s an apt description of fathers—the unsung heroes.

Happy Father’s Day, to my father & to all the fathers out there.
#fathersday

Shikhar Dhawan: Father always stand behind and be the back bone for their kids and family. My father did the same and supported me to achieve all my dreams. That's what I learnt from him and passing on the same to my kids. Aur humare culture mein kaise hanji bolna sabko , kaise sabko izzat dena aur kaise khaatirdaari karna guests ki, sab maine apne father sahab se seekha. #HappyFathersDay papa

Shivam Dube: My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person. He believed in me. Thank you Dad for being there for me always ... Love you lots. #Fathersday #Dad

Sangeeta Phogat: I have a hero in my life. He taught me how to stand after falling... He pointed out my weaknesses and guided me in removing them. He was tough on me and never let me cry. He held me when i was lost and encouraged me when i failed. He believes in me... He sacrificed everything and has lived his life through me.... he is my dad # Happy Father’s Day
