India beat New Zealand 5-3 in the second leg of their FIH Pro League match at the Kalinga Stadium here on Friday.

New Zealand opened the scoring in the first quarter through Simon Child before India skipper Harmanpeet Singh netted the equaliser. The visitors went ahead again, this time through Sam Lane and doubled their lead through Jake Smith as the first quarter ended 1-3 in favour of NZ. In the second quarter, India pulled one back through Selvam Karthi after which Harmanpreet once again restored parity for the Tokyo Olympics bronze medallists.
