India lost 2-3 to Spain in a thrilling FIH Pro League match at the Kalinga Stadium here on Sunday.
The visitors opened the scoring through Eduard de Ignacio-Simo in the 17th minute. Ten minutes later, Spain doubled their lead, with drag flicker Marc Miralles beating India goalkeeper PR Sreejesh to his right.
The Indians pulled one back when Mohammed Raheel Mouseen, who was picked to play for the senior India team following a fine show (10 goals) at the FIH Hockey 5s in Lausanne earlier this year, won a penalty corner with his individual skills. Skipper Harmanpreet Singh's drag flick made it 1-2.
