Leading wicket-taker Sidak hopes to make Rizvi Farris Shield team after helping crush Anjuman by an innings and 201 runs in Giles Shield Final

Sidak Singh's figures of four for 34 on the last day helped Rizvi Springfield thrash Anjuman-I-Islam English to lift the Giles Shield title for the third time in a row.

Left-arm spinner Sidak feels that his impressive display in the final and in the whole contest might elevate help to his school's Under-16 team.u00a0 He aims to break into Rizvi's Harris Shield team.

"I'm most happy with the consistency that I've shown because it is the only thing which helps you keep your place in the side.

"Now I hope my coach will give a serious thought of introducing me to the senior squad, and with no other left-arm spinner available, I think I've got a nice chance," he said.

The 11-year-old emergedu00a0 the tournament's leading wicket-taker as he finished with 33 scalps in five matches. A feat, he didn't expect to achieve in his debut season.

"It feels really wonderful to finish with most number of wickets. It wasn't expected as I was just starting out. I wanted to give my best. My father helped me get rid of the nervousness. He backed me to do well and with God's grace, I've accomplished that," an emotional Sidak said.
