Vettel says his 100th Formula One appearance at Sunday's US GP will be exciting as championship race is still wide open

Reigning Formula One champion Sebastian Vettel is excited as he braces up for his 100th F1 race over the weekend at Austin, USA. Adding to the German's excitement is the fact that the title race this year is still wide open with just two races to go.u00a0

The Red Bull driver hopes "the best is yet to come" as he takes a 10-point lead over Ferrari's Fernando Alonso into the last two races of the season. Vettel can wrap up his third successive championship title on Sunday at the US Grand Prix, or a week later in Brazil, however he;'s taking nothing for granted yet.

"I still believe that the driver, who deserves it most will be champion. No doubt we are in a very good position now and I hope we do well until the very end to make sure that we deserve the glory," the Red Bull German driver told Formula1.com in a recent interview.

Vettel overcame a 39-point deficit against Ferrari's Spanish driver by winning four of the last five races. In the last GP at Abu Dhabi, he finished third, right behind Alonso, despite the fact that he began the race from the last place on the grid. Vettel said the Bahrain win and Abu Dhabi GP were his highlights of the year. Speaking of the inaugural race on the Circuit of the Americas in Austin marking his 100th career race, Vettel said: "It's all gone so quickly. One hundred is a big number - one hundred Grands Prix sounds a lot: one hundred starts, one hundred times surviving the first corner. If I reflect on it, it doesn't feel so long ago that I broke into Formula One."u00a0
